Active Exercise Programs

Active graduated exercise is taught for acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions. Our Kinesiologist and exercise therapist spend time on a one-on-one basis, teaching, monitoring and tailoring exercises to each patient's needs with the goal of increasing flexibility strength, motor-control and cardiovascular fitness.


Tai Chi is a Chinese discipline which originated at least six centuries ago. It was developed as a means to improve health. The unique combination of postures and moves will have positive physical effects on the cardiovascular, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems.

Taoist Tai Chi is a means of reducing stress; improve posture, balance, co-ordination and muscular control. It is also an excellent method of learning meditative movement which leads to a relaxed state of mind.


Pilates is an educational exercise program which incorporates a mind/body approach to movement. Pilates evolved from the teaching of Joseph Pilates. Initially Pilates was utilized by dancers and actors in New York City in the 1940’s. During the last decade, Pilates has gained popularity with people of all ages, worldwide.

Pilates is a pain-free form of exercise which focuses on strengthening your core-muscles mind-body connection through five basic principles and their application to each exercise.
